Celebrating a true Hanford legend

The whole school community came together last month to celebrate a true Hanford legend: Robert Jarvis, Head Groundsmen, has clocked up an incredible fifty years of service at Hanford. 


Gathering in the school chapel, the girls and staff put together a special commemorative service for Robert including his favourite hymn, 'Onward, Christian Soldiers' (a hymn that was composed in Hanford's chapel by Arthur Sullivan in 1871).  There was a lovely violin recital by Tabitha H and a special prayer for Robert.   He received a beautiful painting of the school and grounds, by artist Susanna MacIness (whose daughters were at Hanford).

Robert has meticulously overseen the care and nurturing of Hanford's stunning grounds and kitchen gardens in his own inimitable style for decades; his hard work allows us all to enjoy the stunning environment we live and work in.  The special service was a wonderful opportunity for us all to thank Robert for all hard work and dedication.
