Senior Resident Matron (Interim) The Senior Resident Matron at Hanford will hold a uniquely important position of trust and influence in the House. You will make a significant contribution to the pastoral and academic welfare of the pupils in your care. You will have the capacity to lead, motivate, support and understand young people in all aspects of their development, especially their emotional, academic and pastoral needs. You will possess strong inter-personal skills, a can-do attitude, a good sense of humour and will be expected to be an excellent role model for the pupils. You will expect and embody high standards of behaviour, courtesy and care. You will be required to carry out weekend and evening duties. You will have significant overnight responsibility on a rotation with the boarding team to respond to the needs of pupils overnight. Accommodation will be provided. Applications from candidates from a teaching or non-teaching background are welcome. Start Date: 4 September 2026 Contract: Full Time Interim role, predominantly Michaelmas Term. Work may be required on some of the bank holidays if they fall within term time and will be required in some of the school holidays to ensure the House is ready for pupils. |

School Nurse (Part-Time) The School Nurse holds an important place within the Boarding Team and wider Hanford Prep community. The role incorporates medical care of the pupils with wider duties relating to medical administration, compliance and general tasks within the boarding team. You will be required to work to a rota to ensure medical cover at key times of the school week. It is a condition of your employment that you maintain your membership with the relevant professional body (NMC) whilst in this post. The Sherborne Schools Group agree to pay the annual fee for this registration as part of your contract. While the primary place of work will be Hanford Prep, the postholder will also be expected to contribute to and support initiatives across the wider Sherborne Schools Group. Start Date: ASAP Contract: Part-Time Fixed Term, Term Time Only. Hours of work: Mondays and Tuesdays from 7.30am to 5.30pm and alternate Saturdays from 7.30am to 12.30pm during term-time. Flexibility in hours will be required on occasion to meet the demands of the post. The role involves providing security and continuity of care to children at the school. Therefore, close co-operation with other nurses and boarding staff employed by the school is required with cover and flexibility essential. |

TEACHER OF GEOGRAPHY Fixed Term - 1 January 2027 to 31 August 2027 Sherborne Schools Group is seeking an exceptional and creative Teacher of Geography to teach in our vibrant and happy Hanford Prep School for girls (aged 7-13). The successful candidate will be expected to plan, prepare and deliver inspiring teaching to our pupils, while contributing to the wider life of the School. This role is part-time (0.4), term time only. The ability to teach additional subjects would be an advantage, although expertise in Geography is essential. Regular Giving and Database Officer
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Development team at Sherborne Schools Group in a role that combines relationship-building, fundraising and data management. Working closely with the Group Development Director, you will play a key part in growing regular giving across the Group, helping to strengthen connections with our alumni, parents and wider community while supporting the long-term ambitions of our schools. Based at Sherborne Girls, but working across the wider Sherborne Schools Group, you will take ownership of our regular giving programme, developing engaging campaigns and appeals that inspire support from different audiences. From helping to shape Giving Days and future telethons to building a meaningful legacy giving programme, you will have the opportunity to make a real impact and see the results of your work across the Group. Alongside fundraising, you will become the Development team's lead user of our CRM database, Raiser's Edge, ensuring that our data is accurate, insightful and used effectively to support decision-making and measure success. You will work closely with colleagues in Development and Finance to manage gift administration, reporting and Gift Aid processes, while helping the team make the most of data to strengthen engagement and fundraising activity. We are looking for someone who enjoys combining analytical thinking with strong communication skills, who takes pride in maintaining excellent data standards, and who is motivated by being part of a collaborative and supportive team. Choral Scholar (Tenor) Sherborne Boys School is seeking a talented and enthusiastic Tenor Choral Scholar to join our vibrant and supportive music community. Pastoral Assistant Sherborne Schools Group is seeking a Pastoral Assistant, while their primary place of work will be Sherborne Girls the postholder will also be expected to contribute to and support initiatives across the wider Sherborne Schools Group. From time to time, they may be required to work at other schools or sites within the Group to meet the needs of the business. A Pastoral Assistant is a member of the House team, normally consisting of the Housemistress/master (HM), Resident and Non-Resident Pastoral staff and House Matrons, who together run the House and maintain its rules and ethos. Under the guidance of the HM the pastoral assistant has social and moral input into the House. The boarding houses are at the heart of the life of the School. For each pupil the house provides a home and an extended family. The staff who work in the boarding houses make a significant contribution to the lives of the pupils and of the School. Teaching Assistant (One to One Support) Sherborne Schools Group is seeking to appoint a warm, vibrant and caring Teaching Assistant to support an individual pupil in our Prep setting. The successful candidate will work under the direction and supervision of class teachers and the Head of Learning Support to help promote effective learning and teaching. While their primary place of work will be Sherborne Preparatory School the postholder will also be expected to contribute to and support initiatives across the wider Sherborne Schools Group. From time to time, they may be required to work at other schools or sites within the Group to meet the needs of the business. Up to 32.5 hours per week to be reviewed termly. Hours of work are likely to be 8.30am – 3.30pm (less half an hour unpaid break daily), Monday to Friday. Some flexibility will be required on occasion to meet the demands of the post.
